St Gregory’s Catholic Science College is a vibrant and inclusive secondary school located in Brent, committed to providing high-quality education rooted in our Catholic values. We are seeking an enthusiastic, ambitious and highly effective Science teacher to join our successful department as Second in Charge of Science.

This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding classroom practitioner who is ready to take the next step in their career and make a significant contribution to the leadership and development of Science across KS3, KS4 and KS5.

Working closely with the Head of Department, the Second in Charge will help to shape the direction of the department, support colleagues, develop teaching and learning and ultimately ensure that our students continue to achieve excellent outcomes. We are looking for someone who combines strong subject expertise with energy, initiative and a genuine commitment to collaborative leadership and who is a forward-thinking, flexible and proactive teacher. You will be an excellent communicator, an enthusiastic team player and someone who enjoys working collaboratively to solve problems, develop ideas and raise standards.

Our Science Department has a strong ethos of sharing good practice, supporting one another and continually seeking to improve. We are looking for someone who will bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm whilst building on the department’s existing strengths.

The successful candidate will be a confident teacher who can teach their specialist science discipline through to A level, whilst also being able to contribute enthusiastically to the wider Science curriculum. We welcome applications from teachers of any science specialism who are passionate about their subject and excited by the opportunity to work as part of a high-performing team.
