Pope Francis Catholic Multi Academy Trust is a family of Catholic schools, established by the Archbishop of Liverpool, at an exciting turning point in its development. We currently have four secondary schools and four primary schools, with a number of schools set to join the Trust this year as we grow significantly.

Inspired by the Gospel and the teachings of Pope Francis, we are united in our mission to provide the very best Catholic education that encourages every person to strive, achieve and flourish, mindful of the needs of others, with no one left behind. Our values of Joy, Mercy, Service, Dignity and Solidarity are not just words: they are our way of working, learning and being.

We understand that each school is unique and has its own distinctive community to serve. Our model is not transactional or one of entitlement, it is one of accompaniment, support and challenge within a family of schools. In the last twelve months we have seen real progress and momentum across our secondary phase, and we are excited by what we can still achieve.

About the role

We are seeking to appoint a strategic and experienced leader to take on the role of Head of Early Years School Improvement.

This is a Trust-wide leadership post within our growing School Improvement Team. The successful candidate will lead the strategic direction of Early Years education across all schools, ensuring that every child makes the strongest possible start to their learning journey.

You will work closely with school leaders, teachers and the wider Trust team to secure high-quality provision, strengthen early intervention and build meaningful partnerships with families and communities.

This is a key role at an exciting moment. You will help shape the future of Early Years across a rapidly developing Trust.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status
  • Have a strong track record of leadership in Early Years
  • Demonstrate proven impact on outcomes for children
  • Have a deep understanding of EYFS pedagogy and practice
  • Be skilled in coaching, CPD and developing staff
  • Have experience working with school leaders and across multiple settings
  • Understand early identification and support for SEND pupils
  • Be able to build strong relationships with families and communities
  • Be committed to safeguarding, inclusion and equality
  • Support and uphold the Catholic ethos of the Trust

This role offers the chance to shape Early Years provision across a growing Trust, influence practice at scale and make a lasting impact on children’s lives. We’d love to hear from you if you think you can make a difference in our schools.
