Inspire a love of languages in a school where languages are thriving and growing.

With increasing uptake at GCSE and a forward-thinking curriculum, this is an exciting opportunity to join a successful and ambitious Modern Foreign Languages department.

At KS3, pupils study either French or Spanish, with the option to continue their chosen language at GCSE. Languages have grown in popularity over the past three years, with two GCSE Spanish groups expected from September. Due to the current structure of the department, we are looking for a specialist who can teach at least one language to GCSE.

Our schemes of learning are founded on the principles of Dr Gianfranco Conti’s Extensive Processing Instruction, and we welcome candidates who are familiar with, or are willing to be trained, in this method.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Believes in young people and builds positive, productive relationships
  • Is passionate about teaching French and Spanish
  • Is a strong classroom practitioner with effective behaviour management
  • Can ensure pupils understand and retain key subject knowledge
  • Has high expectations of student achievement and behaviour
  • Works well as part of a team and contributes to the wider life of the school

In return, we offer:

  • The opportunity to work in an outstanding department with high expectations
  • A professional, hardworking and supportive team
  • Enthusiastic students who are proud of their learning
  • High-quality CPD and career development opportunities
  • A caring and supportive environment within a vibrant school community
