This is an exciting position for a candidate who has a passion to transform lives and change society through education. A key role within our mission to ensure we are inclusive and ensure all pupils can flourish and succeed at St Edmund Arrowsmith.

The right candidate for this role will be passionate about education and supporting all pupils in our school and relentless in the pursuit of equality and justice for all. They will have excellent communication skills and the willingness to use those skills to ensure that every child has the chance to succeed, understanding that some pupils require further support and guidance to enable them to flourish.

Purpose of Role

Provide leadership to and set high expectations for the students of St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic Academy in all pastoral matters. Heads of Year have responsibility for a specific year cohort -this post supports the progress, mental health, wellbeing (pastoral care) and behaviour management of students within their designated year group. This position is both proactive and reactive in nature, ensuring the needs of our pupils are met, and that they are known and understood as individuals –our pupils feel known and that they belong so that they can thrive.

Working with the Senior Head of Year, Deputy Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher Inclusion and in collaboration with other members of staff, to provide support and intervention strategies in order to meet the pastoral needs of the students at St Edmund Arrowsmith in a specific cohort.
