Curriculum Leader of Geography

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, innovative and well-qualified Curriculum Leader of Geography to lead our highly successful and vibrant department. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding practitioner to model and promote excellent teaching and learning, while supporting and empowering colleagues to achieve the highest standards. The successful candidate will bring clear vision and strategic leadership, playing a key role in shaping the future direction of Geography across the school.

Our Geography department is high-achieving and currently consists of four teachers, delivering a rich and engaging curriculum to students aged 11–18. We follow the National Curriculum, with students studying Edexcel B Geography at GCSE and Edexcel at A Level. Teaching within the department emphasises inquiry, critical thinking, and the interpretation of real-world data, enabling students to develop a deep understanding of the physical and human processes that shape our world. We are committed to fostering curiosity about global issues and equipping students with the skills to analyse and respond thoughtfully to the challenges of a rapidly changing planet.

The successful candidate will lead the delivery of a knowledge-rich curriculum from Year 7 through to A Level, ensuring high-quality and engaging learning experiences for all students. They will join an ambitious and collaborative team dedicated to inspiring curiosity, sustaining progress through strong subject knowledge, and achieving excellent outcomes. This role would suit a passionate educator who thrives on collaboration, is committed to driving excellence, and is eager to shape students’ understanding of the world through innovative teaching and meaningful fieldwork opportunities.

We expect that you will have evidence of excellent lesson practice and high expectations of pupil attainment and, if overseas trained, we would need evidence that your professional qualifications are recognised in the UK by UK ENIC &/or the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA).
