Develop your career by joining our Outstanding Catholic School!

“Staff are proud to work at the school. They feel well looked after because leaders are considerate of their workload.” Ofsted 2023

“Leadership of religious education is outstanding. Leaders have secured full parity with other core subjects; religious education is rightly regarded as a flagship department at the heart of the school’s mission.” Catholic Schools Inspection February 2026

Join a community that takes your development as seriously as you do!

We are looking for an exceptional Head of Religious Education to build on the RE department’s position as the flagship department of the school. The RE department enjoys excellent facilities and resources and is the “core of core” subjects in our Catholic school. As Head of RE, you will lead a team of dedicated teachers to deliver a dynamic and engaging curriculum in line with diocesan requirements and the school’s ASPIRE values, inspired by St Oscar Romero’s words: “Aspire not to have more, but to be more”. You will be well supported by the senior team, in particular the Assistant Headteacher in charge of Catholic Life, as well as the school chaplain.

Visits to the school ahead of application are warmly encouraged – come and see why our latest CSI report grades us “Outstanding” in every category!

All staff at HFCS have access to a range of career development and wellbeing initiatives including:

  • Entitlement to a paid wellbeing day
  • Collaborative professional partnerships as part of the Haringey Education Partnership (HEP)
  • Access to an employee support scheme
  • Opportunities for flexible working where possible
  • Access to quality CPD
  • Leadership development opportunities

Students at HFCS are happy, vibrant and keen to learn. We work hard to instil excellent behaviour in line with our ASPIRE values and Catholic ethos. HFCS is a successful and happy school which has undergone a significant investment programme giving us excellent facilities in sport, drama, technology and science.

We are a friendly and supportive Catholic school with an inclusive ethos. In March 2023, the school received a graded Ofsted inspection and retained “Good” in all areas. Some of the comments from our very positive report are:

“Pupils said they enjoy the strong friendships they build here. The school is welcoming and like a family. Pupils appreciate the supportive staff who push them to go the extra mile in their work. They are safe and happy at school. Staff have high expectations of pupils’ work and behaviour, and leaders have clear aspirations for pupils to succeed.”

Our latest Catholic School Inspection report (February 2026) graded HFCS as “Outstanding” in every category, commenting that:

“This is an authentic Catholic school at the heart of its community, where the mission is not merely articulated but profoundly lived.

Across year groups, pupils engage purposefully in independent work, showing intellectual curiosity, resilience and a capacity for theological reflection.”
