St Catherine’s is a school very proud of its friendly atmosphere, excellent pastoral care and strong academic reputation. Our School Mission captures the spirit of our happy, confident and inclusive community.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and inspiring classroom practitioner and innovative leader who will manage the Performing Arts curriculum across the School (Prep and Senior). The School offers successful and dynamic programmes for Music and Drama in one faculty, thus enabling a more ambitious, multi-disciplinary approach to performing arts, and pupils enjoy engaging lessons, create wonderful work and excel in public examinations.
The Director of Performing Arts will take responsibility for Prep and Senior learning and continue the development of the performing arts programme across the School. This includes the co-curricular programme, as well as the teaching of Music and/or Drama within the curriculum and an ambitious and committed focus on excellent outcomes at GCSE and A Level.
The Director of Performing Arts will also develop external relationships with relevant industries, build the existing performing arts programme, and strengthen the School’s link with the local community and the maintained sector.
Applications are welcome from innovative people who would like to take a leading role in this part of the School. The Director of Performing Arts is not expected to have expertise and experience in all aspects of the curriculum or with all age groups; however, you will be someone who enjoys working collaboratively with and managing other creative teachers. The team includes very talented and ambitious people who are committed to helping the girls thrive.
All members of staff at St Catherine’s are expected to be supportive of the aims and ethos of a Catholic school and to share responsibility for pastoral care and the co-curricular programme. Staff are committed to safeguarding principles and health and safety at all times. Staff also ensure good communication with parents, ensure the highest quality and standards of teaching and learning, and encourage all pupils to participate enthusiastically.
If you feel you have the experience, enthusiasm and commitment we are looking for, then we would be delighted to receive an application from you.

Interview date: w/c 11 May 2026.
