The Governors are looking to appoint a hard-working, inspiring and talented Theology teacher, with the ability to teach A-Level, to join our existing team and help take St Oscar Romero Catholic School and Sixth Form into the next chapter of its exciting journey.
In April 2025 we were judged by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding’ in all categories. The report was overwhelmingly positive about the school and stated “This is a highly aspirational school where pupils truly thrive”.
In November 2025 our Diocesan Catholic Schools Inspection took place, which judged the school as “Outstanding” in every category. The inspection stated “Students consistently report that they enjoy religious education, valuing both the subject matter and the opportunities it provides to explore faith, ethics and the world around them.” Both Outstanding judgements were proud moments in the school’s history.
This is an exciting time for the school and our success is already breeding further success and aspiration. In the previous academic year, 88% of students achieved at least a Grade 4 in both English and Maths. Our challenge is to improve even further on that.
The Theology department is a creative and energetic team, who are always looking for new ways to deliver the curriculum that excite, stretch and provoke curiosity in our students. We are seeking to recruit a new member of the RE team who will bring spark, energy and empathy to the department, as our school continues on its quest to be the best in the country.
In September 2024 the school opened their new Sixth Form, offering a traditional academic curriculum with some vocational qualifications. There is the possibility of teaching A-level Philosophy and Ethics for the right candidate.
