Archbishop Beck Catholic College is an Archdiocesan school and we pride ourselves on our strong Catholic ethos.  We are based in North Liverpool and have 1200 students on roll across year groups 7 – 13. The College is heavily over-subscribed and very well respected by the local community.

We promote an atmosphere where high standards of behaviour, respect and academic achievement are expected.

Governors are seeking to appoint a high-quality, enthusiastic and ambitious Teacher of English to join our dedicated and successful department.

You will have the opportunity to teach across the full age and ability range, supported by a highly collaborative, forward-thinking team. Our English department is a thriving and dynamic team, bringing together a strong blend of experienced practitioners and talented early-career colleagues. This balance creates a vibrant professional culture where fresh ideas are welcomed and expertise is generously shared.

At Key Stage 4, students follow the AQA GCSE English Language and English Literature courses, achieving strong outcomes through a carefully sequenced and knowledge-rich curriculum. As a team, we are reflective and ambitious: we are currently engaged in an exciting curriculum review, working collaboratively to refine and strengthen our provision to ensure that every student makes excellent progress and develops a genuine love of English.

The successful candidate will become part of a department with a proven track record of success, high expectations and a deep commitment to nurturing confident, articulate and thoughtful young people. We are passionate about literature, language and learning, and we strive to model that passion in our classrooms every day.

This role offers the opportunity to work alongside dedicated practitioners who pursue the highest standards for their students while supporting one another’s professional growth. The successful candidate will share our vision, our ambition and our belief in the transformative power of English.
