This is a fast-paced, multi-faceted role that goes far beyond traditional office administration. As a core member of the Careers Team, you will actively design and co-deliver engaging events, co-host careers assemblies, manage our digital presence, and build strategic relationships with external employers and parents. We are looking for an assertive, confident communicator who is comfortable with public speaking, adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously, and passionate about inspiring students aged 11–18 to navigate their future pathways.

Key Duties the Careers Coordinator will be responsible for:
  • 1:1 Student Guidance Coordination: Arranging and tracking student uptake for 1:1 guidance appointments across Years 7–13.
  • Event Planning & Project Management: Leading the end-to-end planning and delivery of major annual events, including the Year 13 Interview Evening, Year 9 Careers Fair, university trips, and workplace visits.
  • Work Experience Leadership: Managing the Year 10 and Year 12 Work Experience Programmes, including compliance, student placement administration, and liaison with heads of year, tutors, and parents.
  • Data Management & Tracking: Overseeing student tracking systems via Unifrog and Compass+, accurately recording destinations for Year 11 and Year 13 leavers, and reporting metrics to the Careers Lead.
  • Digital Communications & Media: Managing the careers section of the school website and social media channels (LinkedIn, Instagram) to showcase opportunities and alumni achievements.
  • Newsletter & Resource Creation: Researching, writing, and curating the weekly Careers Newsletter and assisting Subject Teacher Career Ambassadors to maintain up-to-date Labour Market Information (LMI) displays.
  • Employer & Partner Engagement: Serving as a primary point of contact for external employers, alumni, and parent volunteers to expand local community partnerships.
  • General Team Support: Performing other reasonable duties as requested by the Careers Lead in line with team priorities.
Person Specification & Essential Criteria:
  • Sector Knowledge: Good understanding of the Gatsby Benchmarks and Statutory Guidance relating to Good Careers Guidance in Schools and Colleges.
  • Public Speaking & Delivery: Confident facilitating workshops, co-hosting careers talks and engaging directly with students, staff, and external partners.
  • Project & Event Management: Proven ability to manage multi-stage projects (e.g., work experience schemes, career fairs, networking evenings) under tight deadlines.
  • Digital & Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using databases, spreadsheets, design tools (such as Canva), and professional social media channels (LinkedIn, Instagram) to drive engagement.
  • Relationship Building: Skilled in building and sustaining networks with external employers, higher education institutions, parents, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ethos & Inclusivity: Strong commitment to supporting the distinctive Catholic ethos of Salesian School and promoting equal opportunities and inclusion for all students.
Qualifications Required:
  • 8 GCSE’s at grade 9-4 including English and Maths
  • 96 points – A-levels, BTEC’s T-Levels or Equivalent
Desirable Experience:
  • Experience working within a Careers Education, Advice, and Guidance (CEIAG) role in a secondary school, college, or higher education setting.
  • Background in Early Careers or Graduate Recruitment within industry
