Our Presence on X (formerly Twitter) and why we are remaining.

Catholic Recruitment exists to support the mission of the Church by promoting work that respects human dignity, vocation, and the common good.

We are aware that questions have been raised about whether organisations should remain active on X. After careful reflection, we have decided to continue our presence on the platform, guided by Catholic social teaching and our responsibility to serve those seeking meaningful work within the life of the Church.

For many people—particularly those exploring their vocation or discerning work with Catholic values—social media is one of the main ways they discover opportunities, ask questions, and encounter organisations like ours. Remaining present allows us to reach people where they are, rather than limiting access to those already connected to Church structures.

Our presence on X does not mean endorsing everything that takes place on the platform. It means choosing to use it responsibly:

  • to share opportunities that respect the dignity of work
  • to communicate clearly and honestly
  • to promote dialogue rather than division
  • to act with professionalism, charity, and restraint

We do not engage in harassment, hostility, or outrage‑driven exchanges. We regularly review how we use digital platforms to ensure that our communication remains ethical, constructive, and aligned with our Catholic mission.

This decision is kept under ongoing review. If at any point we are no longer able to communicate with integrity or serve the common good through this platform, we would reconsider our presence.

For now, we remain on X because we believe that supporting vocation, dignity, and good work includes being present in the public spaces where people are actively seeking direction and opportunity.

We are also active on Instagram (rc_employment) and BlueSky (@catholicrecruitment.co.uk). We encourage our followers on X (formerly Twitter) to follow us on these platforms so that, should we leave X in the future, we can remain connected with you.
