Pope Francis Catholic Multi Academy Trust is a family of Catholic schools, established by the Archbishop of Liverpool, at an exciting turning point in its development. We currently have four secondary schools and four primary schools, with a number of schools set to join the Trust this year as we grow significantly.
Inspired by the Gospel and the teachings of Pope Francis, we are united in our mission to provide the very best Catholic education that encourages every person to strive, achieve and flourish, mindful of the needs of others, with no one left behind. Our values of Joy, Mercy, Service, Dignity and Solidarity are not just words: they are our way of working, learning and being.
We understand that each school is unique and has its own distinctive community to serve. Our model is not transactional or one of entitlement – it is one of accompaniment, support and challenge within a family of schools. In the last twelve months we have seen real progress and momentum across our primary and secondary phases, and we are excited by the fact that we can achieve more.
About the Role
In order to meet the needs of our current schools, and the schools choosing to join us, we are seeking to appoint a full-time Head of Primary School Improvement. This is a significant and exciting leadership role at the heart of our growing Trust.
The core purpose of the role is to support and challenge our primary schools to provide the best possible Catholic education, through strong, sustainable and inclusive school improvement. Working closely with school leaders, headteachers and governors, you will help deliver the highest quality Catholic education for every child in every school.
Our primary improvement strategy is gathering pace: collaborative networks, evidence-informed practice, and strong cross-school support are already driving outcomes. This year’s priorities focus on embedding excellence in core curriculum areas and deepening our collaborative infrastructure. The Head of Primary School Improvement will be central to building on this momentum.
Our ideal candidate will:
• Be an experienced primary senior leader with a demonstrable track record of school improvement attributable to their leadership
• Be a committed Catholic who understands and embraces the distinctive nature of Catholic education
• Have deep knowledge of the National Curriculum from Early Years through to KS2 (and into KS3)
• Be highly skilled in using performance data to analyse, understand and drive improvements across schools
• Have experience of leading quality assurance processes and driving curriculum development
• Demonstrate the ability to motivate, challenge and support headteachers and staff to achieve excellence
• Be a collaborative, outward-facing leader who builds strong relationships across a family of schools
• Be committed to safeguarding, equality, and the wellbeing of all pupils
