Saints Peter and Paul Catholic High School

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic RE teacher to join our Salesian Fellowship Catholic secondary school, where Religious Education is central to our mission: “Faith guides us to inspire students to be the best they can be.”

As a Salesian school, we uphold the principles of reason, religion and loving kindness. Our strong Catholic ethos is supported by an active Chaplaincy team and by excellent partnerships with our feeder primary schools, ensuring continuity in pupils’ faith formation and transition.

The school was judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted (2022) and ‘Good’ in the Catholic School Inspection (2024). Inspectors highlighted our strong sense of community and the transformational leadership within RE. The Faculty is led by an RED specialist and former LEA RE Lead, bringing significant expertise to the department.

The RE Faculty benefits from an updated suite of specialist rooms, and several team members serve as examiners, ensuring high-quality and informed classroom practice. We pride ourselves on being a respectful, aspirational and compassionate community with a collaborative and forward-thinking culture.

In return, we will offer you:

  • A supportive staff team within a distinctive Salesian community.
  • Strong professional development and access to high-quality CPD.
  • A well-resourced, specialist RE building.
  • Opportunities to work with Chaplaincy and contribute to the School’s spiritual life.
  • Engagement with feeder primary schools.
  • Membership of the Archdiocese of Liverpool Secondary School Improvement Trust.
  • Staff wellbeing initiatives and flexible working options.

We welcome applications from individuals committed to Catholic education and to supporting the spiritual and academic development of our students.

Prospective candidates are invited to an Open Event on Tuesday 13th January 2026 at 5pm to come and meet the staff.
