Are you passionate about modern foreign languages and committed to inspiring students? The Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School is seeking a Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (Spanish and French) to join our community of dedicated educators from 1st September 2026. We welcome both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers for this permanent role, offering the opportunity to teach a diverse range of abilities, within a school renowned for its strong academic outcomes and deeply rooted Catholic values.

About Us

The Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School is a highly successful and oversubscribed Roman Catholic comprehensive school for boys, with a pan-London intake and mixed Sixth Form. It was graded Outstanding in all aspects in the most recent Ofsted Report (November 2021) and has a long track record of high performance in public examinations. Conveniently located halfway between Shepherd’s Bush and Holland Park tube stations, the Vaughan is situated within the leafy surroundings of London’s Holland Park area and is within easy walking distance of Westfield shopping centre and nearby Notting Hill. Both stations are served by the Central Line, with Shepherd’s Bush Overground also running trains to Clapham Junction every ten minutes.

The school is part of the Saint John Southworth Catholic Academy Trust, which promotes a collaborative environment, founded on Catholic Social Teaching and the principles of solidarity and subsidiarity, ensuring all pupils are supported to grow and succeed.

Key Responsibilities

As a Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (Spanish and French), you will:

  • Deliver engaging lessons, fostering a love for the subject and high standards of attainment
  • Contribute to curriculum development, shaping schemes of work and resources to ensure relevance and depth in line with national standards
  • Participate in departmental activities, including field trips and enrichment programmes, to support a well-rounded learning experience
  • Track and support pupil progress, providing feedback and reporting to parents to ensure each student achieves their potential
  • Act as a Form Tutor promoting positive behaviour and instilling self-discipline

What We Are Looking For

Our ideal candidate:

  • Holds a good honours degree in Modern Foreign Languages or a related discipline, along with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Is committed to personal development
  • Brings excellent knowledge of the subject, curriculum requirements and exam specifications
  • Possesses strong organisational skills, a proactive approach to lesson planning and effective classroom management skills
