The Governors of this popular and successful Catholic Grammar School wish to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics with effect from September 2026. The ability to teach Mathematics to GCSE is essential and to A Level would be advantageous. The Mathematics Faculty at St Anselm’s College is an exciting place to work, and we are looking for a dedicated individual to teach with passion and determination to further promote a love of Maths amongst the student body, driving engagement with the subject both inside and outside the classroom.
The post would be suitable for an ECT or for someone with some years’ experience, who is looking for a challenging post that offers the scope to play an active part in the implementation of curriculum at all levels.
We strive to achieve high quality learning, delivered by specialist graduates who work well together as a committed team. Standards are high; the Faculty routinely secures high “value added” for its GCSE and A Level students.
Students make good progress at GCSE with 32% 7-9 and 92% 4-9 in 2025. At A Level, Maths students achieved 80.5% A*-B, and 80% A*-B in Further Maths. The successful candidate would benefit from the support of highly professional colleagues. Mathematics is a very popular 6th Form subject with an outstanding track record at A Level where it is consistently the largest subject. Many students progress to study Maths and Engineering at Russell Group universities annually, with offers from Oxford and Cambridge secured during the past 5 years.
