Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate Teacher of Art to join our Arts Department, delivering Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 curriculum focused on Fine Art, the ability to also teach ceramics would be advantageous. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher, or someone starting their teaching career, looking to develop their skills within a dynamic and supportive team.
Skills and Qualifications:
– A relevant qualification in Fine Art or related subject (degree level preferred)
– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
– Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire secondary school students aged 11-18 years (Key Stage 3, 4 and 5)
– Good knowledge of art curriculum requirements including practical techniques and theory elements
– Ability to plan lessons that cater for different learning styles and abilities within mixed ability classes
– Good organisational skills with attention to detail when managing classroom resources and student work
– Willingness to participate actively in departmental activities, extracurricular clubs, exhibitions or events
