Our thriving co-educational 6th Form is ethnically and religiously diverse, attracting students from across many local schools.

TEACHER OF ART

Do you want the opportunity to join an ‘Outstanding’ Art Department that is consistently placed in the top 0.5% of National achievement for GCSE and A Level?

Are you looking to join a committed, friendly and supportive team to cultivate your skills as an Art Teacher and help you to maximise your future career development?

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and proactive practitioner of Art with the ability to teach at all Key Stages including GCSE Art & Design, A Level Fine Art with the possibility of Graphic Communication. Applications are welcome from both experienced teachers and ECTs. We have a proven track record of support and development and an excellent ECT package is available.

You will have the opportunity to work in our excellent purpose-built, 6th Form Art Studio. This is an amazing Art Space solely for the use of A level Art students and includes Sculpture, Printmaking, Digital and exhibition facilities. We have worked very hard to develop an outstanding A Level Art provision offering both Fine Art and Graphics Communication. The ability to teach A Level Fine Art including skills in painting & drawing, sculpture and printmaking is essential.

We use well-developed Schemes of Work across the Department but you will also have the freedom at GCSE and A Level to utilise your specialisms and expertise where appropriate as we believe our Department should be equally enriched by your contribution. Our Art Department Instagram account art.st.bons has lots of examples of the type of work produced by our students as well as a tour of some of our arts facilities. The role will include planning, assessment, and the delivery of a broad extra-curricular provision at all Key Stages.

Exact breakdown of teaching will differ from the above, depending on Curriculum and classes in each year group and Key Stage.

We encourage visits should you wish to come and meet the team and find out more about us and our school.

We expect that you will have evidence of excellent lesson practice and high expectations of pupil attainment and, if overseas trained, we would need evidence that your professional qualifications are recognised in the UK by UK ENIC &/or the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA).
