We are seeking a friendly, reliable and proactive Student Welfare Officer (who will also be the Lead First Aider) to join our dedicated pastoral and wellbeing support team of support and teaching staff and lead our Student Hub.

The Student Hub really is a hive of activity, with a constant hum of students and staff. The Student Welfare Officer acts as a central point of contact for student welfare and wellbeing. As well as responding to and supporting first aid and other requests, you will liaise with parents and staff and other professionals to support the needs of the students.

As the Student Welfare Officer, you’ll be the first point of contact for students and parents, providing essential support, first aid and guidance. You’ll play a key role in supporting student welfare, from managing accident, sickness and medical needs and risk assessments to overseeing records and dealing with day-to-day enquiries, from lost or missing items to lost timetables! The successful applicant must be a qualified first aider, or willing to undertake training, and enjoy working in a busy, supportive environment.

No one day is the same and the post holder must be proactive, resilient and able to multi task to support all aspects of the Student Hub and help make a real difference to our pupils.

We are seeking:

• A positive, self-motivated, organized team player with a can-do approach.

• Great interpersonal and communication skills with adults and children/ young people.

• Experience of working with children/young people (desirable).

• Experience of dealing with medical needs or first aid in a formal setting.

• Willingness to train in pediatric first aid if not already qualified.

• Confident in ICT, especially Microsoft Office – as the role requires administrative duties and accurate record keeping.
