Catholic Multi Academy Trust / Phase: Secondary with sixth form / Role: Teaching / Lecturing
Stage not Age Teacher (Main scale) from September 2026
Full Time – temporary to August 2027
De La Salle School is a non-selective, co-educational, Roman Catholic secondary school for children aged 11-16. It is situated in Eccleston, a suburb of St Helens, Merseyside, and currently has 1,200 pupils on roll. It is associated with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Liverpool. The school is a proud member of the Lasallian family of schools across the world.
To ensure we meet the needs of all our students, we are seeking to recruit a primary trained teacher to teach in our new Stage not Age Provision. This is a unique and innovative programme of learning for a small cohort of students in year seven. These students all have EHCPs with varying SEND profiles and are currently working below upper Key Stage 2.
In addition to improving standards of literacy and numeracy, accelerating progress, being engaged and enthused, and developing a real love of learning, students have the added benefit of knowing that they will have one teacher for the majority of their timetable. This enables them to build strong relationships with one member of staff, in a similar way to primary practice. They also have a stable classroom setting where they can draw on the same resources for all their lessons. This has the added benefit of reducing the stress of moving from one room to another and also gives students the opportunity to develop strong friendship groups in a positive setting.
The successful candidate will be able to support lower school students across the curriculum according to their individual strengths and skills.
Here are at De La Salle, we believe that all students should have the best possible start to their high school experience and you would be supported by highly professional and committed colleagues. We know that by embedding and nurturing these skills at the earliest stages, in a challenging, safe environment, our students will have the necessary tools to not only succeed, but make exceptional progress throughout their time with us.
These are exciting times for you to join our team and I’m sure you’ll agree that the students participating in this new, innovative, creative curriculum will develop a real love for learning and a passion to succeed.
Closing date: Friday 10th July, 12.00pm.
Interviews: Week commencing 13th July.
