St Charles Sixth Form College is seeking an exceptional and committed professional to establish and lead a brand-new SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Hub, supporting students with significant mental health needs to re-engage with education and thrive.
This is a rare opportunity to design, shape and lead a specialist provision from the outset within an inclusive, values-led sixth form college. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting students with complex needs, working closely with families and professionals, and delivering bespoke programmes that enable positive outcomes and successful reintegration into full-time study.
The Role
As SEMH Hub Lead, you will take full responsibility for the implementation and leadership of the SEMH Hub, a dedicated provision supporting a small cohort (maximum of 10) of students with complex SEMH profiles.
You will:
- Lead the establishment and ongoing development of the SEMH Hub
- Act as the lead professional for SEMH referrals and student consultations
- Work closely with families, external agencies and College teams
- Design and oversee bespoke programmes of study aligned to curriculum pathways and specialist support
- Deliver high-quality teaching and targeted interventions
- Line manage and develop two SEMH HLTAs
- Champion effective mental health practice across the College
This role combines strategic leadership, hands-on practice and advocacy, and will suit an experienced teacher who is confident working with complexity, autonomy and responsibility.
