Band 6 Point 7 (Actual salary £22,706) permanent 37 hours per week (hours can be negotiated) term time only plus 5 days (worked during periods of school closure)

The Governors of The Holy Family Catholic School wish to appoint a Pastoral Support Manager.

The Pastoral Support Manager will be part of a wider pastoral team who are critical in supporting the behaviour, learning and well-being of our students throughout the whole of their time with us at the school.

The successful candidate will be responsible for administrating, analysing and managing the on-call system, detentions, reports, our time out facility and the pastoral base. The role will involve providing an efficient and effective administrative support to the Assistant Headteacher and pastoral team, being responsible for creating and updating student pastoral information, and being an important link in liaising with parents/carers, and relevant school staff

Main tasks

·         Managing the pastoral base and facilitating student support

·         Managing the on-call system and liaising with staff and students

·         Regular communication with parents and carers on behalf of the pastoral team

·         Providing administrative support to the Assistant Headteachers and the pastoral team to ensure that all documents are produced in a timely manner and to a high quality. This may include the use of spreadsheets and databases and assisting with recording systems.

·         Compiling behaviour, attendance and achievement reports using Class Charts

·         Attending and contributing to pastoral meetings and briefings and taking minutes.

·         Maintaining the detention system, analysing the data, sending detention notifications to parents and staff and following up absences from detentions

·         Cover for Year Managers where appropriate

·         Undertaking any other reasonable duties at the direction of the Headteacher.

·         Full training on all systems will be given

Applicants should hold GCSE or equivalent qualifications in English and Mathematics and should have some basic ICT skills. Relevant additional qualifications and experience especially in dealing with safeguarding would be an advantage but are not essential. This post is ideal for a patient, calm, resilient, and flexible individual who is passionate about sustainably improving standards and outcomes for students.
