About the role

St John Bosco College is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning and Pastoral Support Coordinator to join our ASD Base team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and making a meaningful difference to their educational experience and wellbeing.

Working closely with the ASD Base Lead and wider school staff, you will play a key role in supporting pupils’ academic progress, emotional development, and personal growth. You will provide targeted mentoring, coordinate support programmes, and ensure that every student is given the opportunity to thrive in a safe and inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality mentoring and targeted support to individual pupils and small groups, particularly those facing barriers to learning
  • Monitor, track, and review pupil progress, ensuring high expectations for behaviour, attendance, and achievement
  • Coordinate daily timetables and oversee pupil-focused administrative processes
  • Support the ASD Base Lead in planning, data tracking, and preparing for EHCP reviews and meetings
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure effective classroom support and consistent provision
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to support pupils holistically
  • Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, and inclusion across the school community

Why join us?

  • A proud, diverse and inclusive Catholic school underpinned by our RUAH ethos – Respect, Understanding, Affection and Humour
  • A focus on working smarter, not harder, with streamlined systems designed to reduce unnecessary workload
  • On-site gym and a programme of staff social events to promote health and wellbeing
  • A bespoke coaching programme for every member of staff
  • A chaplaincy team and quiet reflection spaces supporting both staff and students
  • Access to a free, confidential Employee Assistance Programme offering 24/7 support

Our school was judged “good” by Ofsted in October 2022 and “outstanding” by the Archdiocese of Southwark in June 2025.  Our Roman Catholic, Salesian school, in the heart of Battersea, strives to ensure that all its young people are given the opportunity and support they need to achieve their best, fulfil their true potential and go out into the world confident and ready to ‘earn their own bread’.
