Salford | Start: September 2026| Fixed Term
Are you passionate about inspiring students and nurturing their faith, confidence, and curiosity in Religious Education? We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Teacher of RE to join our Catholic school and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, faith-filled, and engaging RE lessons.
As a Teacher of RE, you will bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a strong commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos of our school. You will plan and deliver inspiring lessons that deepen students’ understanding of faith, encourage reflection, and promote respect for all beliefs and cultures. You will help students recognise the relevance of Religious Education in their daily lives and support their spiritual and moral development.
We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and early career teachers who are eager to make a positive impact in the classroom, contribute to the wider life of the school, and support our mission as a Catholic community.
Why Join St. Ambrose?
Our three-year trend of results places us among the top-performing secondaries in Salford. Our mantra of ‘improving on previous best’ means we’re always striving to be better. We are an excellent school on a journey to secure Inclusive Catholic Excellence. We value the opinions of our staff, pupils, and parents, who consistently tell us we are doing well. If Ofsted inspections are important to you, feel free to review our report — but we encourage you to visit us in person, walk the corridors, speak to pupils and staff, and make your own judgement.
Every day, we live out our Catholic mission to Love, Learn and Lead.

Our staff attendance is high, the school is fully staffed, and many staff have been with us long-term — a testament to our positive environment and supportive leadership.
You’ll be part of a great team with strong CPD opportunities and a genuine commitment to work-life balance. Our lunchtime reading and research clubs for staff are very well attended and help keep our teaching fresh and inspiring.
We’re a welcoming school — you’ll even have a laugh while you work. Recent colleagues have said that joining St. Ambrose reinvigorated their love of teaching and strengthened their desire to stay in the profession. We believe in retaining our staff and pupils alike.
We are inclusive, SEND-focused, trauma-informed, and maintain high expectations and standards. We never give up on children. Our outcomes and attendance for vulnerable pupils exceed national averages for SEND and disadvantaged groups, yet we continue to strive for true equity.
Our pupils are respectful, kind, and committed — a calm environment where staff can teach and students can learn.
