Cover Supervisor -Fixed Term- Until the end of the school year (31/8/2026) (Suitable for NQTs/ECTs)
The governors of this thriving mixed 11-16 Catholic High School are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to join an ambitious and highly supportive team.
Corpus Christi Catholic High School has been on a considerable upward trajectory of improvement over recent years. We were inspected by Ofsted in July 2025, and inspectors found our school to be Outstanding in all areas: The quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management.
No areas for improvement were identified in the report. Inspectors described our provision as “extraordinary,” “exceptional,” and “impressive.” They praised our pupils for their good manners, respectful behaviour, and eagerness to learn. Staff were also praised, with inspectors saying that ‘their understanding of how best to support pupils, including those with SEND, to learn and achieve well is truly remarkable’.
The Ofsted report showed that inspectors were particularly impressed by the school’s pupils. Their good manners, good behaviour, respect for each other and keenness to learn were all praised in the report. Inspectors commented that ‘Pupils are extremely proud to be part of the warm and friendly school community. They hold the school in great esteem’.
Leaders at the school believe that improvements in the quality of teaching have had a strong impact on attendance. As a result, the school was recognised as being within the top 1% of schools in the country for attendance, and this term the figure has remained high at 96.5%. Inspectors noted that pupils ‘…are committed to their learning and their levels of attendance are remarkably high.’
Facilities at Corpus Christi have also undergone a dramatic transformation in recent years. As well as adding new science laboratories, a new state of the art food and nutrition room and a new chapel to a building that was already equipped with outstanding facilities, pupils have recently been provided with a huge garden area to the rear of the school. Inspired by the work of Charles Jencks, ‘the garden’ includes paths, seating, and borders.
The personal development of all pupils is at the centre of the school’s ethos and pupils are given a myriad of opportunities to develop their SMSC education. The school has a well-embedded bespoke CPSHE programme which is further embellished by Extended Learning Days which take place five times a year. As part of these, all pupils are offered the opportunity to experience learning outside the classroom, in addition to a large number of trips including residentials at Castlerigg, the French and Belgian Battlefields and our long-standing trip to Berlin.
Over 90% of pupils have taken advantage of the incredible extra-curricular offer at the school this year, with clubs, societies and groups being offered by all curriculum areas, as well as Chaplaincy. These include Spanish class, Latin club, Lego club, Debating society and the ever-popular Performing Arts Club, who work tirelessly to put on shows throughout the year.
Governors and staff were delighted with the recognition that they received from Ofsted and the Diocese, but they are ambitious for the next phase of the school’s development and determined to do all that is needed to ensure that every pupil at Corpus Christi experiences a quality of education that is outstanding.
