Due to the imminent retirement of our long serving Business and Finance Manager. The Governors of this high achieving school seek to appoint an experienced and highly organised Business and Finance Manager to play a key strategic role in the effective management of the school’s resources.
The Business and Finance Manager will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the school’s financial, business, and support services. Working closely with the Headteacher and Governors, you will ensure that resources are managed efficiently to support the school’s educational priorities.
The successful candidate would be responsible for:
- Strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Day to day management of the school’s finances, including payroll, purchasing, and monitoring expenditure‑to‑day management of the school’s finances, including payroll, purchasing, and monitoring expenditure.
- Preparation of financial reports for the Headteacher and Governing Body.
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, audit requirements, and local authority policies.
- Oversight of contracts, procurement, and value for money initiatives‑for‑money initiatives.
- Line management of the Business Leadership Team and general oversight of school support staff.
- Supporting the Headteacher in strategic business and financial planning and decision making‑making.
- Contributing to the overall leadership and management of the school.
You will have proven experience in business and financial management, ideally within an education setting, with strong financial acumen, including budgeting and financial reporting. Along with excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills you will also be required to work strategically while managing operational demands. Experience of working with Arbor would be desirable.
