Are you passionate about Religious Education and committed to inspiring students? St Thomas More Language College is seeking a Teacher of Religious Education to join our community of dedicated educators from 15th June 2026. We welcome both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers for this permanent role, offering the opportunity to teach a diverse range of abilities, within a school renowned for its strong academic outcomes and deeply rooted Catholic values.

Key Responsibilities

As a Teacher of Religious Education, you will:

  • Deliver engaging lessons, fostering a love for the subject and high standards of attainment
  • Contribute to curriculum development, shaping schemes of work and resources to ensure relevance and depth in line with national standards
  • Participate in departmental activities, including field trips and enrichment programmes, to support a well-rounded learning experience
  • Track and support pupil progress, providing feedback and reporting to parents to ensure each student achieves their potential
  • Act as a Form Tutor promoting positive behaviour and instilling self-discipline

What We Are Looking For

Our ideal candidate:

  • Holds a good honours degree in Religious Education or a related discipline, along with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Is committed to personal development
  • Brings excellent knowledge of the subject, curriculum requirements and exam specifications
  • Possesses strong organisational skills, a proactive approach to lesson planning and effective classroom management skills
