    We wish to apologise to all our visitors who were unable to visit our website this week.  Unfortunately, our hosting company DNS servers was the subject to a sustained distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack.  We changed our DNS servers to bring our website back online the new DNS server was then also attacked.  We have in place several measures to prevent DDoS attacks. On this occasion, the sheers velocity of the attack meant we were unable to redirect all the attacks from our site altogether. 

    The attack started on Tuesday before midday and ended around 1.00am on Friday.  During the 85 hours of the sustained attack, our website was not accessible for a total of 4 hours, 6 minutes and 23 seconds.  The total continuous period was on Tuesday when the site was offline for 2 hours, 9 minutes and 30 seconds

    Since the attack, we have implemented further security measures and will continue to monitor the situation over the weekend.
