The London Oratory School

The London Oratory School seeks to appoint a permanent Visiting Music Teacher of Voice.

The London Oratory School is amongst the city’s most prestigious state-funded Catholic schools. Educating boys from 7 to 18, with girls in the sixth form, it puts a strong emphasis on the Arts. We are seeking to appoint a committed, inspirational and versatile teacher of voice. The successful candidate will join a large team of visiting staff in a busy and thriving department.

Music and singing are central to the life of the school with several well-established choirs in the department and roughly 200 pupils participating. The department programmes a number of large-scale choral concerts and events each year with repertoire typically including Viennese Masses and Oratorios. Many pupils take individual singing lessons across the age range.

Responsibilities will include teaching one-to-one lessons, preparing pupils for practical examinations including GCSE and A level performances. This position is P/T – one day a week, starting as soon as possible, ideally with a start date as soon as possible.

Applications will be considered as they are submitted; the School reserves the right to interview before the closing date.

This School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. The successful applicant will need to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
