Due to the continuing popularity of our school, we are expanding our staffing profile in line with our increasing pupil numbers.
Our Religious Education team provide the best learning experience for pupils through high expectations, inspirational teaching and personalised support. Achievement in the department is good and GCSE results are competitive with national averages.
In Key Stage 3 pupils follow a Religious Education curriculum based on the Religious Education Curriculum Directory from the Bishop’s Conference of England and Wales. The curriculum focuses on learning about the Catholic faith as well as other world faiths including Judaism and Islam. The Key Stage 3 Religious Education curriculum also develops pupils writing skills and provides cultural capital through experiential learning. In Key Stage 4 the Religious Education department delivers Edexcel GCSE Religious Studies Specification A with component units in Catholic Christianity, Judaism and a textual study of St Mark’s Gospel.

The department currently consists of 7 specialist Religious Education teachers, 2 of whom are part time and 1 who is on the senior leadership team. Teaching takes place across a number of classroom bases within the school.
