Full Time Maternity Cover
Website StMarysCHS
Phase: Secondary with sixth form / Role: Teaching / Lecturing
St Mary's Catholic High School

The Governors of this Catholic High School and Sixth Form College seek applications from highly motivated and inspirational individuals who are committed to ensuring every child and adult within our community have the self-belief to flourish in whatever they choose to do.

If you are looking for a new challenge, we are looking to welcome an excellent teacher to join our successful Social Studies department on a temporary basis. This is a temporary opportunity to cover a period of maternity leave that will end once the intentions of the post-holder are known, but is anticipated to last at least two terms.

Psychology & Criminology are the largest subjects at level 3 with many of our students progressing onto degree level qualifications. The governors are committed to appointing the best candidate who can demonstrate the ability to teach Psychology and ensure the highest quality learning experience that impacts positively on educating the whole child. The ability to deliver criminology, as an additional subject, would be a distinct advantage, but is not essential. The post provides an excellent opportunity for a new entrant to the profession or an established sixth form or FE teacher who is looking for a new opportunity. Appropriate Post 16 experience will be considered for pay determination.

We are seeking a confident, caring, and creative individual with the ability to inspire and motivate students to learn and succeed. The appointed candidate will have the expertise to encourage and engage students and demonstrate a strong track record of success. The school can offer an exclusive sixth form or whole school experience depending on the wishes of the successful candidate.

If you require any additional information or would like to visit school, please contact Tricia Foster, Human Resources Manager by e-mail t.foster@st-maryshigh.wigan.sch.uk
