Are you a passionate educator with a dedication to the holistic development of students? Do you believe in the power of character education and its pivotal role in shaping young minds? If so, we invite you to join our Catholic community as Teacher of PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, and Economic Education). This is a temporary contract until 31st August 2025 to meet the curriculum needs of the school during the 2024/2025 academic year.

We are an oversubscribed 11-18 Catholic High school committed to nurturing not only academic excellence but also the moral and spiritual growth of our students. As we continue to build our Curriculum for Life department, we are seeking an exceptional individual to lead this crucial aspect of our educational provision.

We are looking to appoint a well-qualified and excellent teacher, with the ability and motivation to ensure all students progress and achieve their potential. Additionally, we are seeking a confident, caring, and creative individual with the ability to inspire and motivate students to learn and succeed. It is essential that the appointed candidate has the ability to teach a second subject and the expertise to encourage and engage students and demonstrate a strong track record of success.

At St Marys, we recognise the importance of equipping our students with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate life’s challenges with resilience, respect, and compassion. Rooted in our Catholic values, our Curriculum for Life and Character Education programs are integral parts of our educational ethos.

We believe that every child has the potential to flourish academically, socially, and spiritually. By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students, helping them to develop the knowledge, skills, and values they need to thrive in today’s world and beyond.

If you are a dedicated practitioner with a keen interest in the development of the whole child, we would love to hear from you. If you require any additional information or would like to visit school, please contact Tricia Foster, Human Resources Manager by e-mail t.foster@st-maryshigh.wigan.sch.uk
