It would be desirable that the candidate can teach across all year groups from KS3 to KS4, with a specialism in Spanish to GCSE and French at KS3, as a minimum requirement.
The Language Department is popular and very well regarded. It has a very well-established team of staff; schemes of learning are well sequenced, and students make excellent progress. Over 60% of all students study a language at GCSE and the EBACC pathway is widely promoted and an inclusive pathway of choice. At Key Stage 3 students’ study both French and Spanish in Year 7 and 8 then choose their language pathway at the start of Year 9.
The Department has four refurbished classrooms with state-of-the-art IT facilities, and this is a fabulous opportunity in a very good school.
The successful candidate must have experience of teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4 as a minimum, with the ability to teach Spanish to GCSE level and possess a deep knowledge and understanding of current languages specifications at Key Stage 4. The successful candidate would join a team of experienced and talented teachers in a strong department, who were complemented during our last inspection in 2019.

If you meet the requirements of the job description and person specification and feel that you make a positive difference to our school, then we can’t wait to receive your application.
