The Trustees are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed teacher to join our hardworking, highly experienced and supportive History Department.

Applications from ECTs are warmly welcomed.

Oaklands is a Catholic Academy taking in boys and girls from 11-18. There are over 1,300 students on roll, including a Sixth Form College of 220 students. It is a well-established, oversubscribed comprehensive school, which is well supported by parents and highly respected in the community.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding teacher who can demonstrate exceptional classroom practice that reflects contemporary and traditional thinking in teaching and learning. They will have a clear vision to continue the success of the department and help pupils to develop their skills and knowledge in History to the highest possible level within and beyond the curriculum.

Candidates who have extremely high expectations and are keen to take a full and active role in developing the wider life of the school are encouraged to apply.

If you are a Catholic you will understand the distinctiveness of Catholic schools such as Oaklands and this will be attractive to you. You do not have to be a Catholic to work at Oaklands; the Governors welcome applications from candidates of differing faith backgrounds or none, who can be supportive of the school ethos.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to apply for an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
