Due to the relocation of the current Subject Leader of Maths, we are now seeking a suitably qualified and enthusiastic Subject Leader of Maths to lead our team and teach across the age and ability range up to and including KS5.
St Mary’s Catholic School is a founding member of the St Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy Trust, established in September 2021. This post represents an ideal opportunity for an ambitious candidate to assume the leadership of a core subject area across all key stages.
As our recent (November 2024) OFSTED demonstrates, “‘The quality of education pupils receive is exceptional…The culture of positive behaviour at St Mary’s is remarkable…’ and ‘St Mary’s is a very special community to be a part of’. The Quality of Education and Behaviour & Attitudes are graded outstanding.
At St Mary’s we work tenaciously to ensure that maths an enjoyable, interesting and worthwhile experience for all pupils. We aim to foster pupils’ perseverance and resourcefulness in solving problems and to develop their ability to think logically yet creatively, leading to an affinity with the subject and excellent outcomes. Maths, Further Maths and Core Maths are taught at KS5. Maths is a successful and popular subject at A Level and St Mary’s students go on to study maths or subjects with a high level of maths content at universities including Oxbridge and Russell Group. The successful candidate would be expected to teach across the full age and ability range, including A Level.
We take our shared values of Love-Respect-Flourish to the heart of our ethos for pupils and staff.
