Thank you for your interest in the post of Subject Leader of English at St Nicholas Catholic High School to start in September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent contract which has arisen due to the internal promotion of the previous post-holder. Applications are welcome from candidates with a faith background or a willingness to be supportive of our Catholic school status.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and visionary Subject Leader for English who is committed to fostering excellence in teaching and learning across all Key Stages. The successful candidate will be a highly effective leader, able to inspire and support a dedicated team of teachers, drive forward continuous improvement, and create a culture where a love of English flourishes throughout the school. They will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the department, building on the school’s strong record of success as highlighted in recent external examinations, and inspections from both the Diocese and Ofsted. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to make a lasting impact in a vibrant, forward-thinking, and progressive department.
