Come and teach Science in a school where students and parents are passionate about their children doing well in Science.

We look after and nurture our staff looking to develop them through department specific CPDs and manage teacher workload by ensuring that a plethora of set resources are available to aid delivery of the curriculum.

We have a focus on pedagogy focussed on research and the best practice to aid the attainment of our students.

We are looking for a Science Teacher with the ability to teach Chemistry at KS5 as well as all specialisms in both KS3 and KS4 Science; who will contribute to the development of pedagogy, teaching & learning and attainment in the Science Department. There will be an opportunity for a TLR within the department for the right candidate.

The goals of our Science Department and Curriculum are:

  1. To teach the analytical, observational, conversational, and critical thinking skills applicable not only in Science but transferable to all other subjects in the school.
  2. To foster a love for the subject, promoting learning in a structured and creative environment
  3. To continuously challenge students to achieve their full potential in aiming to master topics.
  4. To enrich students learning with science with clubs, trips and opportunities that stretch beyond just the classroom

The Science team teaches the full range of ability for pupils aged 11 to 18. Students sit exams following the AQA Exam Board at GCSE, and Edexcel Examination Boards at A Level. We have a large uptake of separate sciences at GCSE and the A Level sciences are one of the most popular choices.

We expect that you will have evidence of excellent classroom practice and high expectations of pupil attainment and, if overseas trained, that your professional qualifications are recognised in the UK by UK ENIC &/or the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA).

We Offer:

An opportunity to be part of an enthusiastic, inspired and motivated team where staff genuinely feel valued and cared for.

A minimum of 20% PPA for all teaching staff.

A teacher friendly marking policy.

No written reports to parents.

A strong commitment to your professional development and career management.

We will provide top quality CPD opportunities for you.

We will encourage you to provide CPD to others; within our school, our borough, our diocese, our alliance and beyond.
