We are seeking to appoint from January 2025, an experienced and qualified SENDCO, who will play a vital role in supporting our students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The successful candidate will:

·     be accountable for the support and subsequent performance of pupils with Special Educational Needs

·     strive to constantly raise the attainment of SEND pupils and meet the specific needs of each identified individual

·     possess excellent organisational skills including with external agencies to maximise support and opportunities for pupils at Upton

·     have the ability to work independently, be adaptable and have excellent communication skills

·     provide professional guidance to colleagues and share good practice, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies

·     be expected to fulfil the responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the STPCD

·     have an up to date knowledge of SEND diagnoses and accommodations.

·     have an ability to use ICT for teaching and learning

·     possess a willingness to contribute to the ethos of the school

Upton Hall School is a Roman Catholic Grammar School for girls. There are over 1000 girls on roll and it is oversubscribed. Facilities are outstanding. The school has academy status.
