Founded in 1802 and set in a beautiful Yorkshire valley, Ampleforth College is the world’s foremost Catholic boarding school, welcoming girls and boys of all faiths aged 11-18. Each student’s unique talents are recognised and nurtured within a welcoming community rooted in Benedictine values.

Music is at the heart of Ampleforth, above all in the Abbey Church, but also all around the campus and beyond. Over the years an ever-widening diversity of instrumental and choral music has developed and more recently that experience has been shared with children and adults beyond the valley. Music features strongly in the academic programme of both schools and the department has excellent facilities, including a dedicated computer suite and recording studio. The recent ISI inspection report noted that “The College’s music is of the highest quality. Music plays a central role in the life of the school with high levels of participation and achievement recorded.”

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Musician who is required to teach Clarinet. You will be expected to teach a broad range of styles from beginner to diploma level students. You will be joining a large and highly successful Music department with excellent facilities and would be required to teach face to face lessons in the purpose-built music school.
