Maternity Cover – 9 month fixed-term contract • Starting April 2026

Mayfield School, a leading Catholic independent boarding and day school for girls aged 11–18, is seeking an organised, proactive and enthusiastic Music and Arts Administrator to join our Music Department on a 9-month maternity cover contract.

Based within the Music Department and reporting to the Director of Music, this varied and rewarding role provides essential administrative support to both Music and Drama, while also contributing to the wider School Office administration when required.

From coordinating instrumental and LAMDA lessons to supporting concerts, productions and examinations, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys organisation, communication, and working in a lively school environment.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Providing administrative support to the Director of Music and Head of Drama
  • Coordinating instrumental, singing and LAMDA lessons for visiting tutors
  • Creating and maintaining individual pupil timetables using iSAMs and SOCS
  • Communicating with parents and pupils regarding lessons, rehearsals, concerts and productions
  • Supporting the organisation and promotion of concerts, productions and events
  • Maintaining accurate records for billing, invoicing and reporting
  • Minute-taking for departmental meetings and preparing reports as required
  • Assisting with trips, rehearsals, piano tuning, equipment ordering and stock control

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (training on iSAMs and SOCS provided)
  • Friendly, professional and comfortable communicating with pupils, parents and colleagues
  • Able to work independently while contributing positively to a team
  • Flexible and willing to support occasional evening and weekend events
  • Interested in music and the performing arts (experience or musical appreciation desirable)

Hours & Flexibility

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday 08:30 – 17:00
  • Some evening and weekend work required to support concerts and productions
