The Governors of Loreto High School Chorlton seek to appoint a well-qualified, experienced, passionate and inspirational Mathematics Lead Practitioner to join our school. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic, highly motivated, reflective and knowledgeable teacher to play a leading and highly visible role in the development, implementation and monitoring of our whole school mathematics strategy.
We are an ambitious and aspirational community and are focussed on achieving strong academic outcomes alongside a holistic education that prepares our students for life. Ensuring young people develop good mathematics skills and a broad vocabulary is a key part of this mission.
The Mathematics department at Loreto achieve significantly above the national average securing 78% at 9-4 in the 2024 examinations. Maths is a popular subject in the school and we offer further maths at GCSE. You will be joining a supportive and enthusiastic department whose priority is improving both their own practice and the outcomes for the students.
The successful candidate will work under the guidance and direction of the Deputy Headteacher Curriculum and other senior and middle leaders to drive forward the Governors’ and Loreto Trust Board’s vision for the improvement of the school. The successful post holder will be ‘committed to building a better world’, ensuring all staff are upskilled to deliver outstanding mathematics provision allowing our students to flourish academically and develop into confident, articulate, active, respectful, successful and happy young people. The successful candidate will be self-aware, open to development and believe, like we do, that ‘feedback is a gift’ and be passionate about making a real difference in the lives of our students.
