We are seeking to appoint a full time Kitchen Porter to join our team based at Worth School. You will report to the Head Chef / Second Chef; and will assist in the day to day running and cleaning of the department in compliance with the requirements of the department, food standards and service. Via the completion of equipment maintenance, kitchen hygiene and food preparation.

As the Kitchen Porter, your responsibilities would include:

  • Ensuring all equipment, crockery and working areas are kept clean and tidy
  • Comply with food hygiene standards and departmental code of practice in the preparation of food
  • To continuously review existing procedures and suggest potential improvements and efficiencies
  • Support the teams with the safe and efficient running and cleaning of the kitchen

What we are looking for:

  • Someone that can work successfully in a team and under minimal supervision
  • Someone who can act on their own initiative
  • Someone with the ability to read and understand instructions
  • Someone that is flexible and can adapt to the changing needs of the school
  • Ideally with previous cleaning experience
  • Ideally with knowledge of food preparation
  • Ideally with awareness of manual handling best practice
