Salary: Main/Upper Pay Scale plus TLR1B

Are you passionate about Science? Our Science Department consists of a team of dedicated teachers ranging in experience from ECTs to Senior Leaders and Lead practitioners, together with two science technicians. The department has 10 fully stocked labs designed around science being a practical subject with three science prep rooms facilitating this.

The Trustees are seeking to appoint a Head of Science who has a commitment to academic excellence and a determination for every child to succeed. The successful applicant will build on the solid foundations already in place and will have the management, leadership and visionary qualities to lead the department to further success. Applications are invited from accomplished practitioners with significant experience in teaching across the age and ability range, up to and including A level; who have a clear understanding and commitment to maintain the highest standards of teaching and learning; have an established track record of raising achievement and who possess a strong desire to create an outstanding department that provides excellent teaching to students of all abilities.

The Palmer Catholic Academy is a very successful, over-subscribed 11–18 mixed, multi-cultural, voluntary-aided comprehensive Academy in the London Borough of Redbridge. Although a Catholic academy, we welcome applications from Catholic and non-Catholic teachers.
