Head of PE
We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead and manage our PE department across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring excellent outcomes for all our students, fostering a love of physical activity and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the PE department
- Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that engages and challenges students
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the department, identifying areas for improvement
- Manage and develop a talented team of PE teachers, supporting their professional growth
- Organise and oversee a wide range of extracurricular sports and activities
- Promote the school’s ethos and values through the PE curriculum and beyond
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Substantial experience teaching PE in a secondary school setting
- Proven track record of leading and managing a successful PE department
- Excellent subject knowledge and ability to inspire students
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to the Catholic ethos and values of the school
Desirable Qualities:
- Experience in developing and implementing innovative teaching strategies
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and the wider school community
- Passion for promoting physical and mental well-being among students
- Willingness to contribute to the broader life of the school
Salary and Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary within the range of Main Scale/Upper Pay Scale, plus a TLR commensurate with the responsibilities of the role.
