We are seeking an inspiring and dedicated Head of Business Studies and Economics to lead our thriving department from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious educator to shape the vision and strategic direction of Business and Economics within our school. You will be responsible for driving academic excellence, leading a team of committed teachers, and ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning across Key Stages 4 and 5.

Key responsibilities
- Manage assessment and reporting, implementing interventions to support student progress.
- Lead, manage, and develop the Business Studies and Economics department to ensure outstanding teaching and learning.
- Oversee the design, development, and delivery of a broad, balanced, and ambitious curriculum at KS4 and KS5, aligned with national expectations and exam board specifications.
- Monitor and analyse student performance data to drive improvements in attainment and progress.
- Support, mentor, and performance manage teaching staff within the department, promoting continuous professional development.
- Foster a positive learning culture that promotes high expectations, engagement, and achievement for all students.
- Collaborate with senior and middle leaders to contribute to whole-school improvement and curriculum planning.
- Ensure effective implementation of assessment strategies, feedback, and reporting systems within the department.
- Promote enrichment opportunities, including trips, guest speakers, and extracurricular clubs, to enhance the student experience in Business and Economics.
- Manage departmental resources effectively and contribute to the development of a forward-looking and innovative department.
