We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and committed Director of Mathematics to provide maternity cover for a period of one year in our large and thriving Catholic secondary school.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and inspirational classroom practitioner with strong leadership skills to lead a successful and well-resourced Mathematics department. The successful candidate will be passionate about improving outcomes for all students and committed to upholding the distinctive Catholic ethos of our school.
The Role is required from April 2026.
As Director of Mathematics, you will:
- Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the Mathematics department
- Inspire and support a team of dedicated teachers to deliver high-quality teaching and learning
- Monitor and raise standards of attainment and progress across all key stages
- Contribute to whole-school improvement and work collaboratively with senior leaders
- Promote a culture of high expectations, inclusion, and academic excellence
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Be an outstanding teacher of Mathematics with a proven track record of excellent results
- Have experience of leading or contributing significantly to departmental development
- Demonstrate strong organisational, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- Support and uphold the values and ethos of a Catholic school
