Cleaning Operative

We welcome applications for this support post to commence as soon as possible. The role involves a 14-hour shift in the AM, if required we can be flexible and offer a shift in the PM. Please specify your preferred shift in your application. There are multiple positions available.

The Role

The Estates Department exists to provide and maintain a high quality and safe teaching and learning environment for students. It is also vital that we provide high quality facilities to both teachers, support staff and governors in order to facilitate and maintain an outstanding working environment which is safe and secure. In addition, we aim to constantly improve facilities, through minor and major projects of work and through the reactive, planned and preventative maintenance programme.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Empty and wipe clean all internal bins and dispose of the rubbish to the external bins.
  • Sweep or kex mop clean all hard floor surfaces.
  • Clean toilets and sinks and mop floor areas in toilets daily
  • Work flexibly in response to change that is implemented to meet college requirements.
  • Provide cleaning cover at the Lancashire University School of Mathematics

The Successful Candidate

The Estates department is looking for someone who has good team working skills, basic knowledge of health and safety in the workplace and can manage their time efficiently.

Terms and Conditions

Hours: 14 hours per week, term time plus 3 weeks.

  • AM: Mon, Tues, Thurs & Fri 6.00-8.45am & Wednesday 6.00-9.00am
  • PM: Mon, Tues, Thurs & Fri 4.15-7.00pm & Wednesday 4.00-7.00pm
