Chef de Partie

40 hours a week for 52 weeks per year

We are looking to appoint a Chef de Partie to join our team as soon as possible. The successful applicant will assist the Management and all staff in the provision of a comprehensive catering service that provides first class food and service levels, in both quality and consistency, in accordance with the standards required and will also be responsible to assist the Head Chef in the development of the Refectory, striving to continually improve the food offer for the School.

As Chef de Partie your responsibilities would include:

Preparation of food across all services using fresh ingredients to the department standard and as directed by the Head Chef, including core pupil feeding and hospitality offer, Retreat centre and external lettings

  • Ensure food is of high quality, well presented, nutritious and innovative
  • Contribute to the development of new menus including core and fine dining offers
  • Adhere to Health and Safety and Food hygiene standards including food labelling and allergen legislation, helping to promote a Food safety culture
  • Ensure food waste is kept to a minimum through managing production and portion control
  • Be aware of and adhere to appropriate recipe costings and usage of ingredients

What we are looking for:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Proven experience as a chef using fresh ingredients
  • Excellent understanding of ingredients and allergen legislation
  • Proven experience in safe food preparation
  • Ideally City and Guilds 706 (1&2)/NVQ Level 1 & 2 or experienced Chef with minimum 2 years’ experience
  • Health & Safety
