St Bede's College

St Bede’s College is a leading Catholic Independent Co-educational Grammar School in Manchester. Our aim is to inspire excellence and instil values in every aspect of College life so that all our pupils become well-rounded and capable individuals.

A full-time Teacher is required to teach up to 24 lessons a week of 50-minutes each. Early Career Teachers can expect a reduced contact time and a full program of support. Typically all members of the Department teach throughout both Key Stages; some A Level teaching may be available depending on desire and prior experience.

The Science Department at St Bede’s College currently consists of twelve teachers, three of whom are part time. We are a friendly and collaborative team, with a passion to excite pupils about Science through practical work and forward thinking teaching practices. The department boasts nine dedicated laboratories, each equipped with modern interactive touch panel boards. The department is proud to run several co-curricular clubs from experiment-based workshops in collaboration with our sixth form scientist, to career forums to support Medicine, Veterinary Science and Dentistry applicants. We regularly enter students in national Olympiads, with several pupils each year achieving Gold and Silver awards.
