Student Services Officer

The Role
The Student Services Officer will ensure the effective provision of support to students and staff of the College in accordance with the Mission and Ethos of the College.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised individual for this Student Services Officer role to fill a wide-ranging post in a small and friendly team. You will provide a high quality and professional service to both students and staff, offering advice and guidance on a number of different issues, including attendance, travel, financial support and welfare issues.
We are looking for someone with exceptional administrative and organisational skills, a keen eye for accuracy, and a proactive approach to their work. You will enjoy taking initiative, seeking out opportunities to improve processes, and offering support where needed to help the team achieve its goals.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role include
- To publicise and promote the College’s Bursary Fund to ensure maximum and effective use.
- To assess the eligibility of applicants to the Bursary Fund, ensuring payments are correct according to assessment and Bursary Fund Guidance
- To ensure accurate Bursary records are maintained to make analysis as necessary, inform audit and to reconcile the bursary account with bank statements
- To assist the Cross College Support Manager in the administration and logistics of student events including CAP intervention and Student Progression Days
- To assist in the recording and implementation of the College Green Travel Plan

The Successful Candidate
Cardinal Newman College is a wonderful place to work, and this is an exciting opportunity for a enthusiastic and experienced candidate to join our friendly and well established Student Services department.
The Student Services department is looking for someone who has GCSE Grade A*- C/9-4, or equivalent, including Mathematics & English Language, experience of working autonomously and part of a team, managing own workloads and achieving deadlines as well as having good excel skills.
You should display the values, attitudes, and behaviours consistent with the Catholic Ethos of the College and have a commitment to equality/diversity and the safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.
Terms and Conditions
Hours: 37 hours per week, term time plus 4 weeks. Starting and finishing times as agreed.
Salary: The post will be paid at £24,309 per annum (actual salary £23,125.87 per annum)
