Curriculum Leader for Music
We seek to appoint a highly qualified, driven and successful leader with a proven track record for the post of Curriculum Leader of Music. You will lead a department with a full time music teacher and a technician who will be there to support you in your role.
You will have a passion for inspiring students, teaching creatively and a love for the subject. Evidence of excellent classroom practice and high expectations of pupil attainment and behaviour is essential.
Music is a popular subject at St Bons. Our students study the Eduqas A’ Level and GCSE courses. We have a vibrant KS3 curriculum and a large number of peripatetic students. The department has fully equipped classrooms and provides students with access to a wide range of musical instruments, musical production facilities, rehearsal rooms and a suite of PCs with DAW software installed.
There is a real passion for music amongst our students and therefore you will be expected to create and lead extra curricular activities that will give our students performance opportunities. This is a fantastic opportunity to harness this enthusiasm and to continue to lead a department that is at the heart of the school. Ideally you will have experience of liturgical Music in a Catholic/Christian setting.
We have a long and distinguished history of educating boys aged 11-16 in the East End of London. Our thriving co-educational 6th Form is ethnically and religiously diverse, attracting students from across many local schools. You will be committed to improving the learning outcomes for all pupils in the school whilst providing a supportive and nurturing environment for other teachers in the curriculum team.
